the 12 degree is the best all around transducer.  but it is nice to have both transducers.  i use my 9 degree a lot, more than i use my 19 degree.  if i had to choose which one to have, i would choose the 12 degree over the 19 degree.
when fisherman fish alone, do they really catch fish??

I have the fl8-se. Didn't know much about flashers until I got mine, except that I catch ten times more fish than I used to! Don't think I would need anything else! Great unit and easy to learn!
Looking forward to some "crappie" nights!

Ditto to the above.  Very affordable for a vex.  I can't imagine fishing w/o my FL-8se even though there are better vex units.

I've got a dual beam FL18.  I love the 19 for shallow water (4-5 FOW).  With the 9, it's possible to move your line far enough away from the transducer that you loose your jig.  I fish through a 10" hole.
