any real ice in allegan county

minor or big lake have ice wanna get out again before its to late

yeah they had ice before this little warm up. I have not been out since last weekend.  I am going to assume that there is good ice.  Minor had "decent" ice...1"-3" .  I checked Big last weekend too.   I could not get more than 20 yds from the boat launch.  I tested ice there for 30 minutes before quitting.  If it is fishable, I will be out there.  I could not get out there unless I had a innertube..which I didn't.  BE CAREFULL!  I am more worried about someone going through than I am catching fish.

well ive got a pond in the yard right now has 2 inches of crust 2 inches of water and about 3inches of mushy ice below it it was similiar to minor this week

Hmmm. I am thinking of fishing Allegan county this weekend......should I make alternative plans???  I fished on a inch or less last week.  I just thought th ice might tighten up this week.  did it?  or was that just wishfull thinking?

i havent really step on any good ice in allegan co since the vary first ice weve had if big wasnt froze up good i doubtit is know plus its snowing real good right now

sheesh, so should I go  ice fishing this weekend? I want to hit Allegan but I live in k-zoo.  that is a long drive for no ice.  I will head out of town if you say the ice on sat. is crap.

if you live in kzoo i would have a backup plan my pond is pretty much like the lakes around here and im not even fishin that

Alright,  thanks for the heads up.  I am formulating "plan B" as we speak.  This snow is not going to help a thing around here.  ESPECIALY on marginal ice.

Hey realitycheck, have you been out in the kzoo area at all recently?  I plan on hitting the hard water this Sunday, but with work and newborn tiwns, I haven't had a chance to check out the ice.  Plus, I would like the chance to invite you to my portable shanty for an icy cold beer!

I haven't forgot you velocity.  I am working today....but I am going to check ice on the lakes I pass today.  Gull Lake will be the first on my list.  Sunday fishing....I have some business to attend to but I will be free in the afternoon.  PM me if ya want me to meet ya somewhere.  You said "adult beverage"....that is the magic word.  I will post all of my findings tonight on ice thickness etc.
