Most auto parts stores have some different brands. Everyone has a NAPA in thier town but check out some of the others.

Here are my flags that I made with green felt. You can see them a long way off when there is snow on the ice. And my homemade tip-ups.

I'm not very good at sewing but I did sew them myself!!! JC helped me build the tip-ups.
If fishing was work I'd never be sick!

I made my flags from a piece of felt from wal-mart for 35cents. They are green so they really stand out when there is snow on the ice.
i do the same. a nice bright green so it stands out from the woodline.i stickit on w/ contact cement. i like em' a lttle longer so they move in the wind. easier to see 300yrds. away on my heritages.

I use reflective tape for cars or trailers, Just fold a piece over the old flag gives you a decent size flag. Orange or Red work great and if your if your fishing in the dark you can spot them easy with a flash light and lets snowmobiles and 4 wheelers see them easier.

Surveyors tape works wonders on the tip-up you use a snowmachine to run for. You can see it from any angle. Not like a regular flag where if your in perfect line with the flag you can't see it. You might just notice the rod. Surveyors tape flaps in the breeze and can be see from any direction at a long distance.

Arctic Fisherman (makers of the Beaver Dams) use just a red cotton cloth and use hot-melt glue.  I seen them being made a few times when stopping in to get my older tip-ups reconditioned.
