Not sure about Frye Island, but I fished Jordan Bay yesterday and had a good eight inches of black ice close to the pressure ridge. Fished 40 to 100 feet both traps and jigging. Only one flag and it was a hit and run. Skunked once again >:( >:( >:(

I heard from a friend that somebody put a snomobile and a truck with trailer and sled through the ice this weekend.  He said it was out past the pressure ridge over towards tassel top beach.

Let's pray for some cold weather..

I talked to a guy after the Horne Pond derby and there were people fishing by the landing in Standish. The guy I talked to said there was 12" by shore and 8" a ways out all good black ice. He also said his group only had 1 flag all day, no fish.

There is two pressure ridges in jordan bay but you cross it by the shore there isnt a huge crack people pass it on their snowmobiles and wheelers

i would bet there wont be safe ice by frye yet, there is usually some nasty chop in thru there, and with yestedays wind and rain it may have broken what ever ice was there up
