Three of us fished it on Sunday - two flags, no fish.   :'(

We had about 8" on the Thomas Pond Terrace side, near to shore.  It was too windy to go further out toward the middle.
Easy walking, no slush on top.
The snowmobilers were courteous and slowed down and waved as they passed by.  Also made an effort to go way around the traps.
That doesn't happen on Highland Lake in Windham.
I like Thomas Pond.  Caught a nice fat brookie there last year, and some big yellow perch worth eating.
Hope to catch a salmon in there soon.

Are there alot of snowmobilers down on Highland Lake, cause I was planning to go there this weekend?
And I've never fished it.

Hi Icewoman,
Highland turns into a circus on weekends. 4-wheelers, sleds, cars, trucks, motorcycles, and yes, even airplanes if conditions are right. I don't mind the airplanes they are cool to see around.
What seems to happen there is that all the activity on the lake kills the fishing action, some days the lake just shakes with noise.  The local snowmobile trails are getting cut back due to development and there aren't many 4-wheeler trails so it turns into the high-speed racetrack that is nearest to Portland.
Very convenient to a lot of guys with power toys.  You just have to live with it if your fishing there.

That's why it's nice to have days off during the week - live about a mile away from there and it's just wicked convenient to go for a few hours - not as crazy with that kinda stuff during the week.  Never fished Thomas... too bad you didn't have more action but someone already said it - better than workin!!!  ;D

Icewoman - welcome to the shanty!
