Some nice gills today

Got out from about 3:30 til dark on a local pond.  Caught a bunch of gills, plus a yellow perch, some largemouth and a brown trout.  4 of the gills were 10" or more, best was 10.5".  Small jigs tipped with wax worms in 10' to 11' worked best.

I thought you New Englanders considered bluegills trash fish?       At least where I go in Massachusetts they do. I have them all to myself in Massachusetts.

I'll admit that I don't target bluegill in open water, but they are great fun to jig up through the ice, especially the 10" ones.

Excellent CT bulls HB! Fish 'em open water in April from that water & you'll take even bigger gills...

Good to see you again,nice bulls,get yourself a couple of packs of the GILL PILL in firetiger,size 12 or 14,not that you need any help but I think you will really like them on the tough days,tipped w two mags or a waxy,the CAPT
