Aqua-Vu Underwater Floodlight.
« on: Jan 18, 2008, 02:16 PM »
Hi guys,

Do any of you own this Aqua-Vu floodlight?

If so how do you like it, and how much farther can you see in low light conditions? ???

that's a new one on me too! like previously stated, where did you find that? It's not on the Nature vision website....

although it looks like a plastic hook to adapt a flashlight... my suspicion is that it will act like high beams in a snowstorm...at least on bodies of water with particulate and/or stain...
-hopefully I'm wrong. I'm about to be able to replace my camera that got stolen almost 3 years ago and if this works, I'm game! 8)

I just came from the Dealers Show for one of the largest tackle/hunting gear suppliers that services 5 States and Canada and I asked the Nature Vision Rep about this camera I saw here earlier.THEY have no such light in their 2007/2008 catalog which was just printed.I showed him where the light mounted on the camera and he said that it would serve no purpose as the camera has lights either IF or SRT in the camera.I also see it now on Redrocks website and it sayes its from Aqua Vue so who knows! Maybe worth trying as it may put more light out for the camera to see better????????????

I'm running out to get one tomorrow. If Gander Mtn has one Dicks should too ( i hope there closer).
At first when I was reading this thread I thought, what a drain on the battery and extra wires...
When I read 3 AA batteries I said cool.................. ..

Thanks for the tip!

I first heard reference to in on the Nature vision / Aqua-Vu CD that came with the 2008 In-fisherman ice fishing guide.
I found the picture on a google search.

I hope it works as good as it looks.

I'm probably wrong but I don't think it will work all that great at night. I do believe that it will attract fish though just be hard to see because of all the reflection back off the little things.  For only $ 20 bucks worth a try and if it works more useable time for the camera.

Does that use LEDs or is it a regular flashlite bulb? If its LEDs I thinking its worth a shot.

I'm striking out here... Dicks don't have them yet (back-order) and
GM is out of them. My only chance locally is bait shops and that would
be luck.

Other then that we don't have many sports vendors around here locally.

I don't get it. It's a water proof flashlight. How hard can it be to find one and figure out a way to attach it to a camera? Simplify, modify, adapt.

here's the link

camera add on light

Wonder how long the batteries last?

Here's a question on putting light above the camera, explain if you can.

I fish a lake where the visibilty is about 8-10. During the day, even with light snow cover, I can see that far with my camera....The sun shines down thru the ice for me to see with the camera right????? The particles and micros in the water to not block the camera's view. But come night, the camera is useless. I was told its because the IRLED lighting on the camera is blocked/reflected by the particles/micros in the water.....I guess like when you're driving at night in a snow storm, you can't see where you're going with bright lites on because of the reflection of the snow flakes.....

So...... If at night, I would think all I would have to do is have a light that shines down thru the water like the sun. Therefore no light reflection would block the cameras view....Does this make sense to anyone else???

I have one...All I can say right now is I used it to attract fish at night not attached to the camera and the battery life is great!

I'll head out one night this week and hook it to my camera and post a video in the video section.
