Avondale:
Fished a couple hours this morning. Had lots of nibbles and caught one perch. Anther guy landed a nice 12 in crappie. Tried a couple different spots, bailed when the wind and rain came. Ice is a thin layer of ice, inch or two of water, 6inches of ice with a few froze over open spots to dodge. Dumped rain in CDA all day today. Ice could be bad by Monday.

I live here and have never seen it this quiet.
Oden Bay/Sunnyside ice is trashed due to high winds.
Barometer has finally dropped, if it holds, maybe the lockjaw syndrome will ease off a bit.
Some charts are showing a good afternoon into dark bite. Need weatherproofing to get out.

Thanks Gator. We may stick down here again this weekend and try Spring Valley Reservoir. I will post a report if we end up going anywhere. The warmer weather has me spooked.

Spring Valley Report: Ice has receded from the shoreline, but still accessible off the dock, but sketchy out there. On Saturday, the slush had been frozen pretty solid, with maybe 6 inches of decent ice underneath, but now most of that has softened up and it is questionable as of yesterday early afternoon. Those truck trout are still easy as ever and my report is for the north east side of the lake where you pull in. I didn't make it to the south side of the reservoir where it is a bit more shaded, but I wouldn't want to walk across the reservoir to get there and would probably take the land route. Hoping some freezing temps coming up this week will help keep us on the ice a while longer!

Good report Beandip. Wish it was better news, but at least I know that it is probably not worth the trip without a dip in temps first.

Moose Creek Reservoir ice is 18"-19" thick with 4-5 inches of honeycomb at the top and about five inches of snow, if that. We arrived at 8:30 AM this morning and caught our limit of planter 'bows by 10:30 on glow hooks with worms just off the bottom. Some of the fish were 15"-16" in length and the weather was beautiful. One other group out there using corn for bait was not nearly as successful. They have one fish on the ice and there were 6 of them fishing to our two. One of the rainbows I gutted had a belly full of corn to the point where I am seriously doubting the merits of that bait now. I have read the debates, but I can honestly say that I am personally not a fan.

And if there were no "Hook Holes" in the corn, they were chumming.
I'm sure you know that Huge.
Glad you got out on such a rare, nice day and did it right.

Where on Priest? I'm thinking about trying it and it would be nice to know what part(s) of the lake are ice-fishable so that I can plan the trip up there.
