GOOD MORNING TO ALL,

JUST BECAME A MEMBER THE OTHER DAY THANKS TO A GENTLEMEN I BUMPED INTO AT MY WORK. HE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS SITE AND WAS RIGHT SO FAR, ALOT OF GOOD FOLKS W/GOOD POSTS.

ANYWAYS, I'M INTRESTED IN TROUT FISHING THOUGH THE ICE ANY POINTERS WOULD BE APPIECATED.
ALSO THE GUY I MET WAS TALKING ABOUT FISHING GRIFFINS LAKE BUT I DON'T SEE ANY POSTING FOR IT? THANKS

You don't work at a bait shop by any chance do you? I met a guy at his bait shop the other day that said he was going to check the site out.

Welcome to Ice Shanty, I hope you enjoy it here. There's a wealth of information, and if you look down near the bottom of the lists of forums, there is a trout fishing tips. Good stuff on there, and everywhere. Great place to meet new guys to fish with and learn from, and share your information and pictures. Don't forget to sign up for the tournament!

Welcome, I too am new, and so far have found the site very addicting. I have always wondered how / and where all the Ice fishing tricks and hot spots were. So far this has been a lot of fun! Thanks to all...

Welcome both of you! There is lots of help and info here and a ton of great people to help you out!

As far as the trout fishing goes, there are many excellent opportunities in the Adirondacks to fish.

For starters:

Lake Pleasant
Indian Lake
West Caroga Lake
Piseco Lake
Otsego Lake (not adks... when and if it freezes)

Welcome to I.S. I personally have had great luck on I.S. with info and people to fish with. Just recently moving here has made it tuff but this is the place to come to find out info on local lakes. Tight lines

 Hey new guy welcome to I.S. When trout fishing always fish just a couple feet under the ice, no matter how deep the water is.
