Lakes for Walleye?
« on: Dec 08, 2007, 10:53 PM »
Thinking about trying to start walleye fishing, just wondering about any lakes that hold a decent amount of walleyes.  I'm not asking for specific spots just lakes.

Thanks

Lake of the Woods in Marshall County, has good size walleyes and numbers, tough bite through
the ice,had good success in the spring.Recently Indiana Fish & game had an article about
walleye fishing. Also,Warsaw In. Pike and Winona Lakes.

Almost forgot about the amazo channel on wolf lake in whiting. Have to wait until late in the season because the channel is the last to freeze over. BIG FISH.....

I've fished it several times but never caught any.  A little secret is the lake across the tracks from it rosser park. It has some nice walleye in the lake but they don't allow ice fishing. :-[

I used to live 10 min south of Rosser Park 10 yrs ago and I used to Ice fish there all the time, they don't let you fish after dark but you could ice fish.I didn't think there were walleye in there, very large Bass, tons of crappie, northern, cats, nice gills, but no Walleye to my knowledge.Did you ever catch walleye in there?Maybe they stocked it since I lived there?I know you used to have to watch your boat there, got my tires sliced, and seen a few other people that it happened to as well.

my first stop would be clear over by the marina my step dad caught 2 over there 3 years ago and both of them were 7lbs

we were on the break of 20ft of water and we went to 9ft on the whole shore line in front of the marina
