Lakes Reg. Ice Not safe yet

I have the itch just about as bad as anyone but the ice is still very suspect and is quite slushy on top.  The recent snow and wind may be hindering the formation of good ice.  Some spots may have 3-4 inches and most smaller ponds are all locked up but venturing is still dangerous.  I kicked my way through the ice at Hermit until water came up.  Sparse to no activity on wickwas or pemi pond which seem to be in a similar state.  I think I will enjoy the Pats game this weekend and shoot for next weekend to chase flags.  Anyone going out this weekend be cautious

You can find some ice if ya look around..  was on  4in today with a friend and all our gear...  check as u go and u will be fine....  catch some fish and be safe   shaun
