I carry 7 rods from ultra light to medium and 4 tip ups.

I use the Croxton 4 rod bags and a Croxton tip up tote.

But that is just me  ???

I normally carry 3 rods in my box. I actually pile all my crap on my Shapell DX3000 and drag everything out there on that. When the ice gets real good that gets pulled behind one of our Sportsman's.

All Thorne Bros rods.
Perch Sweetheart Plus 28" w/ hidden hood handle.  Tica SS500
Panfish Sweetheart Plus 28" w/ hidden hood handle.  Tica SB500
Sweet Pea 16" Graphite.  Tica GV500

That cover most of what I fish, & how I fish.  That Sweet Pea is nice for sight fishing in shallow water when no electronics are needed!  Late season gils.  Crazy fun on Jumbos too, but I'm lucky I never tied into a big eye while doing it!  They are carried aroung in a standard Cablea's rod case.  Works out good.

I bring 2 sets of tip-ups that's 10 tip-ups,, and 2 jigging rods. One set up for Pike and Bass, and one set up for Trout. The trout set usually stays in the bag all season. I carry thim in a carry case so I don't have a mess. The jigging rods are for jigging bait if I need it.(((((FLAG)))))

I typically have 8 jigging rods if I am panfishing and they are carried in a soft rod case. More rods means I can find what the fish want quicker and can then narrow down the bait choices as well as how many rods to have out ;D
If I am walleye fishing I usually only carry 2 rods.
Everything is carried in the Trap Pro.

Usually only 2, sometimes 3.  And 2 tip-ups.  No sense taking more crap than needed.  My two main rods cover stocked trout, walleye, and perch, which I fish for mostly, one light w 4lb, one med w 8lb.   I have a couple others heavier for lakers/big pike.  Its when I go on a lake trout trip that I take 3.

G-unit and myself usually bring a total of 12 rods and 10 tip-ups. Extra rods allow us to have different lures already rigged so it is just a matter of dropping a new presentation down in seconds as opposed to minutes. She has trouble tying the small lures on so this saves her and myself lot of time. Since each person can have a combination of up to five devices...rods and tip-ups combined, we can cover all the bases. Thats why I have to get a better rod case.

In 100% agreement. I tend to be a bit of a slob when it comes to keeping my portable neat and organized. For me, four combo's seems to work best and cover whatever situation might arise. Of course, these four rods change, depending on the lake and the species being fished for.

I do a lot of deadsticking from spring type rodholders on early ice. I have drilled 1" holes around the perimeter of my sled and stick the rod butts in there for carrying. Usually carry 7 rods. TWO jig rods and 5 micro lite flex rods with Staples neon stickums for strike indicators at rod tip. Works great!.

I'd stick with the GV500 minimum.  Never had much luck with 2 bearing reels.  What's another $5?  As far as the SS's or SB's, I can't tell the difference other than color & price!

5 tip ups and two jiggin Rods.  In MA we can only have 5 hooks or lines throu the ice at once(any combination).  However you can never bring enough back up...

I used to bring 6-8 rods with and 4-5 of them never came out of my bag. Now I just bring 4 or 2 and a tip up.  I also always have a rattle reel on a spring clamp in my portable.  In MN we can only have 2 lines in the water anyway.

8 or 9 tipups and 2 rods....used to carry them in a jet sled but now i will be using my trap guide to haul em out....normally i fish with at least 3-5 other people so thats 20-30 tipups total that we all haul out....leads to some fun times when you get 4 or 5 flags at once....
