Made a solo trip this morning,got off to a late start after doing some stuff around the house. Set up around 8 am. The rains from earlier in the week did a little damage:

Slow action to start, I thought I missed the morning bite. Just needed to be patient I guess. First fish came around 9 am, a little baby pike on the jigging rod:

Finally got a flag about 9:30. After a nice battle and a couple near misses through the hole I pulled up this nice fish:

Video: Note, I was wrong on the tipup, this had 12# test line. Sorry, I let one S*&* word slip out.

3" black ice in the cove. Careful to anyone who may have been out on similar lakes last weekend. The middle of the lake was open and losing ice in spots due to the wind, yet it was making ice where I was. After this weekend's snow, any lake that was frozen is going to be very inconsistent with ice.

If we get alot of snow It will bring the temps of the big lakes down.

We might be on the King by early January.

Jon, I'll see ya sunday, even though we were out last monday IM FREEKING JELOUS. The angle you had in those videos is f*&^in awesome. I KNOW we'll get some good footage sunday. I CANT WAIT. truck is packed, I have trev sleeping in the driveway after he gets out of work tommorow night, until we leave (midnight-230am)

Great Video--If anyone watches that video be aware--you might watch alot of others like it...I just watched alot of fishies and when I look outside--It's almost upon us

3" black ice Thursday. Up to 4" today in coves but the main part of the lake opened.

Haha the fish didn't bow the ice, that was just my fat butt

the small ponds near my camp in the central adirondacks were about the same the edges were bad though not sure if it was because of the snow or what had to use a bored to get out on them and then there was slush on top. decided to hunt rather than fish but prolly next weekend it was below zero last night at camp so hopefully those kind of temps keep up. got home and my pond had 2 1/2 inches of good black ice on it. dont know if all the snow will hurt it or not but hope not. nice pics 8)

Man I can't wait to get on the King!!! Still putting in my hunting time as well. A couple more days of rifle in NY a day or so left for shotgun in Mass then onto muzzleloader in both states...Then...All Hail The KING!!!!
