TEAM ONTARIO...GOALS for 2008
« on: Nov 14, 2007, 03:53 PM »
I have seen similar threads on other state or province boards, but what are  your goals for the 2008 season

1) 2 Day Walleye Trip in Haliburton (lake not know yet)
2) Try atleast 2 new lakes this year
3) Take my buddy who is afraid of ice on one trip
4) Load up on new gear

I will think of more

1. Better my PB Walleye (so 10lb+ would do nicely)
2. Go for splake or whities as I've caught neither but they are within an easy drive for me.
3. Get out with Team Ontario guys I've never had a chance to meet on the ice.
4. Get runners installed on my 8x12 hardside before the snow flies.
5. Fix up my craptee Clam 2000 (less duct tape = less ghetto)
6. Get my wife out on the ice more.
7. Procure new flasher
8. Catch a fake cold and call in sick for a week or two at a time.
9. Better my PB Walleye
10. Better my PB Walleye  ;)

You likely will Andrew, I'm in the Dominican Republic the first week of December so if it falls during that time LOTS of folks will be beating me out, lol.  First ice really sucked last year at the usual Ott Riv haunts anyway.  And stayed sucky most of the season for some reason.

Would love to have ya up Rob.  Just gimme a heads up when you're on your way dood.  If ya wait til later in the season, we can do a morning/aft panfish search with the portables and then late afternoon head'er to the hardside shack for some walleye action and cook up some fresh crappie... oh and can't forget the ling you'll most likely be scratching off your "most wanted" list...

Try and learn how to catch Crappie thru the ice (Not doing so good at that)
Be safe out there, and set the iron.

You can scratch number 1 off my list as I made it official today and book a weekend trip to Haliburton this Jan. I rented a cottage for the weekend and the owner throws in an extra night free, it even comes with a BBQ at the huts, should be a good time, really looking forward to it

Where did you book and what kind of cost if you don't mind my asking?  I booked a cottage at Buttermilk Falls in Carnarvon last year, it was about $350.00 for 2 nights.

My First Post since joining yesterday.

Goals for 2008 season:

Finally get out on nipp, hopefully for some decent sized eyes and pike, but will be happy with whatever bites.

Lake bernard for lakers / whities, only a 15 min drive.

Big Doe lake for the MONSTER pike that reside there.

And finally, buy a Showdown VPG.

Home Lake(s): Big Doe Lake, Skeleton, Buck & Bernard

Anyone Got Any Tips For A Rookie Nipissing Angler, Hoping To Fish It This Season For The 1st time??

My goals for the 2007/2008 ice season are listed below. Not in any particular order

#1  -  Fish (and do the best I can) in a pro duo tourney( Most likely the CIFC or Simcoe Trap Attack)
#2  -  Buy and use all products that I back to back me
#3  -  Help some non icers get started(Teaching better fishing techniques to others)
#4  -  Fish with more members of the board and meet new people
#5  -  Get out  on as many new bodies of water as possible and catch something!
#6  -  Catch a 22'' + Walleye (Should have no problem there)
#6  -  Catch at least 20 crappies over 10'' my first outing(One has to be on electrical tape  :o ;D)
#7  -  Try out at least one of each of the hundereds of new ice plastics I ordered form Maki, Little Atom and Loby Baits...
#8  -  Get more FLAGS
#9  -  Latch onto my first Muskrat Laker
#10 - Have as much fun as posisble while taking in everything

Get back to Simcoe for an overnighter

Make it to Quinte for some good walleye action

Find a new spot near Ottawa  to get away from Petrie during the hectic period of too many anglers and non-existant bite.

Work on becoming a better panfish through the ice guy... I could use some tutoring here so any volonteers?
