Plenty of Parking around the lake and at the 1st and 2nd lake causeway also on the weigh in station road on the 1st lake just off of route 8. Plenty of vehicles were on the lake yesterday. The ice is solid and clean of snow. Looks really good for everyone getting there vehicles and campers and equiptment out.

You mean I will not have to trudge through a foot of shush this year? I hope you are going to come by and have a beer this year Brian. Thanks for all the info.

the ride is well worth it....i have fished it every year and have not had a bad time. i think this years forecast and ice conditions will make it the most comfortable it has been yet. if you guys are coming out from worcester i would definatly come early. last year i went out 12 hours before the derby started and had to walk a long way down the lake to get a spot. if you guys do come you will not be disapointed.

12 hours before the derby starts and you were walking to get a spot. What are people set up there already? Man, I might have to take the rest of the week off and live on the ice to make sure I have a good spot.  ;D oh wait I have never been to the lake, any spot will be good for me. Dang, and I thought I had a good plan for the rest of the week off.  :'(

this year i'm going 18 hours early.. the lake is broken up into three sections. the middle lake(Second lake) gets the most preasure. the most southern lake(3rd lake) is packed with weeds but some people say there are huge pike in it.......the northern most lake is basicaly bare of weeds and doesnt seem to get too much preasure in the past few years, so that is probably where i will be fishing.......here is a link to check out.

Majority of the guys fall asleep for a few hours. It usually gets quiet around 2-5 a.m.

if you guys are going to be coming out and you plan to use polars, i would strongly recomend finding some sticks and standing them up next to the polars with some kind of reflective tape on it, i've lost a few tip ups from guys on sleds not seeing them. the lake is like a small town during this derby and it is turely a sight to see.

There are three of them. biggest is a mile or more long. The others are a lttle smaller. They are all devided by 2 causeways.

You can do whatever you want. To get ready to put your tip ups in before mid night. People do have them baited and in. We do make our rounds before the derby to check camps and check live wells and whatever may hold a fish. Lots of people very difficult to cheat. Weigh-Ins Start at Mid-Night. Most guys do not fish until Mid-night.

Tickets are around half sold. This week is when they sell fast. The procrastinators wait until the last minute always.
Last year we had around 450.

The whole lake is good. You just have to be careful at the south end of the North lake. The culvert pipe area are open. Same goes for the other lakes. South ends have culvert pipes are open water. Water flows from south to north believe it or not. Any other questions feel free to ask guys.
