So who besides me still goes out in the ice shanty (parked in the driveway) and has a few beers thinking about next season? Just me???

Madgunman,  I check in time to time.  Although I joined late, it was a very interesting cold season reading about some of the nice catches.  My plans are to get more involved in the cold fishing season in '08.  This past year was the first time out for me on the ice in a few years.  Brought back some nice memories.

I actually packed away all of my ice fishing stuff under the stairs the other day.  It was sad but i know it will only be a few months and i will be getting it out again!  And as for the beer...of course i was having a few! :laugh:

Well I also store my open water fishing stuff in the shanty so I'm always stopping in. Good excuse to turn on the radio and have a couple beers. ;D

Picture this... On the first 90 degree day of the this spring/summer season, my 6-y/o daughter says to me: "When I get hot I think about ice fishing and I feel better."

Still checking in. Been after stripers lately but the conversation between fish is usually about hard water fishing

Had any luck at stripers? I've been after brook trout. got a few keepers. Plan to get out after some stripers soon....

if i had a shanty i think i would be in there having a few beers maybe bring a little tv in and watch the sox! i like the idea of storing ur open water stuff in there too

Allways tinkering with the shanty in the off season. My son just gave me a hand-me-down stereo from his car, complete with Sirius subscription. Wired it in this weekend. Little comedy, little blues, little beer, good times. Glad I didn't strangle him when he was a teenager!
