Harding Lake depth
« on: Mar 24, 2007, 05:51 AM »
I was wondering about the depth of this lake.  I fish only occasionally here but people keep telling me they fish in 120+ feet of water.  When I have looked at the depth map from F&G there is only a small area that runs at these depths.  It shows straight out from the boat launch and about half way to the point has this range.  Is the map correct or is the lake deeper than what the map shows?  I'm just curious.  Any information would be helpful.
Thanks,
Travis

It is a very deep lake and it has a steep drop off straight out from the Salcha Drive boat ramp.  I have been going straight out from the boat launch for about 400 yards and slightly to the left and it is 130 feet deep there.  If you have a flasher you will see that most of the fish are suspended and only a few are near the bottom, the fish that I caught last week was down about 70 feet, a flasher is a great help for fishing Harding
