Pegion lake whitefish (last trip) :(

Me and my dad decided to go out one last time before the season was done,
we heard pegion lake was doing welll so we went for jumbo whites,
and suceeded!
it was minus 20 with wind chill
and winds up to 40km/h with some snowfall,
made things difficult

Nice jumbos

Between me n my dad, we caught 6,(ones not included in pics), had 4 to the whole but they let go,
seen atleast 35, caught one walleye, and seen 1 burbot.


It was a nice end to a awesome season,
Cheers to the good season god gave us

Nice line up of whitefish. Very good eating fish, and it looks like they've been eating well, those things are fat!.

It does look cold, I don't see too many other people joining you on the ice.

yes it was this weekend,
actually monday
there is still 30+ inches of ice on pegion,
but it was damn cold yesterday

Oh there meat is pretty good
its very VERY soft,

they taste good to!
but u have to put up with the sliminess and the huge stink they make

there the best when smoked though

but i love catching these fish cuz its hard to not ctach them haha
you watch them take the hook nice and slow
and they stand out in the water,
just simply fun and cool to catch them!
