Those kids!
« on: Mar 06, 2007, 06:35 AM »
Finally got my son and his buddy out for some fishing this weekend.  The conditions were tough with lots of slush and wind to deal with but they toughed it out and were rewarded for it each day  ;D  Here's a few pic's-  ;D

Check out this poor fish

Awesome pike pictures. That last one looked like it needed to be culled.

Great photos. Bet those kids are hooked for life.
Did you open up that last Pike with the sores? If so, were they surface sores, or did they penetrate through-out the meat?

They sure are hooked  ;D  As for the pike- it looked healthy besides the sores and it was cold and windy out and we were fishing a derby so back down the hole it went.  ???

Nice fish and pics AKDG. LP isn't so little, looks like he's gained a few inches.

We've been slushing it too but it looks like it might be icing back up right now.

alot of pike and walleyes get them. they are not uncommon. from what i understand they are just on the skin and do not penetrate  and the fish is still eatable

Yup a few more inches and I won't feel right calling them kids anymore ::)  They sure are growing up fast :'(  They earned every fish they caught this weekend and learned a lot in the process.  We just got a lot more snow and I just got a call that the last derby of the season that we usually hit has been called off due to poor conditions on the lake :'(  How's  Marburry's arm doing?

Pretty well, thanks for asking. Doc said it might not be healing right so it might have to be rebroken but I brought him back yesterday and it's healing fine - cast comes off in two weeks. Meanwhile he's still using his knees for hook removal :D

Those kids ;)
