Love that walleye close-up Blaine
walleye in ct?
Probably from the CT River
We've had walleye in several lakes for many years now. The state of CT has done a remakable job of stocking walleye here in the last few years especially. Unfortunately we don't have many (any) bodies of water with suitable habitat for spawning so it is a put and take fishery. Walleye fishing through the ice has become very popular so the regs had to be changed to give the fish a chance to grow. A couple of years ago they changed to 2 fish @ 18". It seems to be working well. We see quite a few fish in the 5 - 7 lb range in a couple of lakes in particular. The biggest I have seen was 14 lbs a couple of years back and I helped a friend of mine land an 11lb fish.
I keep hearing stories that a guy named Jesus used to out with less than a 1/16th of an inch
Heck, with 1.5" of ice, you need an auger or spud bar... Just whip it out and pee on the ice
