Looking at the fish surveys for Sheridan from 03 and 04, one could assume the growth rate of bows to be approx 25 - 50 mm a year. With the average in 04 of 360, it should now be 460 or just over 18". This seems to be contrary to the fish I've been catching which seem to be between 16 and 17".
Being that the 04 survey has 410mm as its biggest fish, one could also then assume that today that fish should be 510mm or just over 20". I caught one today that was 19" which was the biggest of the season...still looking for that elusive bow that is over 20".
Anyone heard of big bows (20"+) caught at Sheridan? Or for that matter, anywhere in the hills?
What are your experiences with average size bows and what do you think constitutes the upper 10% when talking about size?
My 12" perch at Sheridan I would think is the upper 10% of that watershed....now I'm after the upper 10% of bows. I'm just dreading the day that I keep a 17 incher and then pull a 20+ bow up.
