Candle Lake
« on: Feb 09, 2007, 01:43 PM »
I am considering going up to Candle Lake next weekend to do some ice fishing.  Does anyone know if the fishing is any good or if the ice is safe for trucks.

Thanks

Well I wouldn't waste my time trying to fish candle. Family lives there and for 17 years have never caught anything in feb. March is a little different. I have tried the whole lake.  Deepest part is by the island or deep bay( really rocky). You will need a ski-doo to get around. I fish there lots in the summer. End of june first 2 weeks of july are the best. Catch lots of walleyes then, never even seen a perch, lots of jacks too. I would go to monteral lake, have lots of luck there for ice fishing, but you need a ski-doo to get around.
