TIP UP GAMES

Anyone else play tip up games??
Years ago we had a group of about 8-10 guys and we would all set out our 3 tip ups.we had a small grease board and would draw a "MAP" of the spread and give each one a #. Then draw cards from a deck to see who got 1st pick, 2nd and so on.each guy put his name by a number...and when your # tripped.
1st flg, largest pike,smallest pike and the hot one with the most flags. usually 10.00 chip in per person.
1st flag      20.00
largest       50.00
smallest      10.00
most flags   20.00
Then sit back and use the deck of cards.
it was pretty cool as 30 tip ups can fill a main lake point and the flat. Not uncommon to have 2-4 runs at once.       any others???  opps,missed the poker derby posts,sorry!

we did it once with about 15-20 guys. someone yells flag and everyone runs...to the board. pretty cool when you win the pot off your buddies tip-up!

never tried that, our tip-ups are always going off,no time for games.  ::)

3 weeks in a row i watched the same tip up trip 1st, get the largest, smallest and the most. The notherns just worked into the point thru some sorta funnel. And that was the spot!  Really drives home what a difference 30 ft can make.  The spot on the spot!

my brother and i used to take off running and the first one to te flag would get,it started to get ruff, ruffer and ruffer over the years til know were dumping each other on the ice tying shoe lace to chairs augers. its bad real bad

We use to play tackle tipup.First one to the flag gets to bring it in.Need snow on the ice-softer landing.Also need alot of beer.Fun with 6-10 guys.
