I started making these about 11 years ago for our local fish enhancement group . Each year we raffle off a 1000.00 dollar bill in this fish. And they always wanted the fish with it so I kept on making them.

I make them out of 5mm clear plexi it takes a 2 hrs just to cut out the shape with a jig saw because plexi heats when cut by a jig saw so you have to repeat each cut over and over . then you must cut theheated parts off with a Sharpe knife and a file . then its a couple hours of dermal tool. :)

ya i know someone who made a window for their old shanty like that. he just used a dremel drill and cut the plexiglass after he was done to the size he wanted with a jigsaw

Perch Man,

In my exp. with plexi, If you have a varyable speed jigsaw, turn it down to 2-3 setting. should cut alot smoother less heat buildup, remelting. Also has alot to do with your blades tooth ratio also. Less teeth, larger bit... seem to produce less melting.

Just my 2 cents, hope it helps

It's the hunt, not the harvest that matter's most!!

I work in a glass shop i have tried different speeds then you have to watch the bouncing effect which will crack the fish at the tail end. I always use a NEW fine tooth blade as well . Thank you for input any tip to make it easier is a great help.
