Lake Carey
« on: Jan 28, 2007, 01:26 PM »
Fished Lake Carey today from about 7 am to 9:30 am. 3" of solid black ice. Only manage 2 bluegills. Marked fish on vexilar, fish would move up to bait but not strike it. Tried various sizes, colors, and weights. After Carey hit a small farm pond, caught about 3 dozen bluegills and about 8 bass.

Off St. rt. 29 just below Lemon PA. just north west of Scranton. It is the lake I am standing on in my avatar. The upper part of the lake has some good perch and gills but it can be tough.

Fished today 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on 8" to 9" of ice. Iced about a dozen sunfish and gills and 2 bass 11" and 12". Very cold, not much wind. I did see about 10 other guys out on the lake. Bite was slow at times, really had to work for them. Fish were in 15' to 20'.
