I would have to say Lutifisk hands down!!! Ed[/quote Had some friend from Minnesota that tried to introduce me to this traditional dish...that one...well, I love fish and just coulddn't quite get it down..
Burbot, hands down winner......stink like no other I've ever caught....
nothing compares to the nasty stench of a northern pike. they even taste almost as bad as they smell
I'm with Littleoldlady...a pike out of cold water well prepared is almost impossible to tell from walleye or perch (taste wise anyway - the size may give things away). That being said, I don't think I'm very interested in eating any during the summer any more.
The channel cats out of lukewarm lake Champlain in summer are disgusting to smell, and taste about the same.
I've got some three week old dead smelts out in my bucket in the garage...I'm scared to go out there now.
You think that's something? I was at college last winter, and had a big coffee can full of frozen smelt. I took it out one day for bait, brought it back...and forgot to put it in the freezer. It got kicked under my bed, and about a month later, I found it. I opened it up and... The smell was gut wrenching. Within 5 minutes, I could hear people at the opposite end of the hall yelling about the smell. I don't think the smell went away for weeks... -Zach
I think that would win the smelly fish contest.....sort of like Sweetie leaving the bait can open in the back of the RAV for two days...
