Whitetails & Pike
« on: Jan 25, 2007, 02:05 PM »
Since it was such a nice day yesterday my uncle and I decided to go fishing.

The hoar frost was extra thick and it stayed like that on the trees everywhere all day.

Along the way we encountered 4 whitetail deer with road rage. :D
They came dashing out of the field, cut us off, and proceeded to run down the road ahead of us. I snapped a few action shots. :)

As we got to the lake shore we found a fishing buddy that we met on the ice this year. He was quite stuck in the shoreline snowbank and we helped pull him out.

We then loaded the quad and went to the shanty.

My uncle started the day off with a pike the first 3 min after the hole was cut. Two jigs and bam, fish on.

The fish were a bit negative until the sun began to set and then bait was being stolen and one fish lost at the hole. In the end I landed 2 pike. :tipup:

The final tally was 3 pike. The top{ 27 inches 5.7 lbs} and middle fish{25 inches 4.7 lbs} are mine and the bottom my uncles {25 inches 4.5 lbs}

This is the big one of the day.
