Yes it is true. The lake is unsafe for vehicles. My dad just spent three days there and the only way on was with sled and that was tricky at times he said. The sled he was driving was a yamaha 1000 and he said he was skipping across the slush with it. He said also you would not even get 20 ft on the ice with a vehicle. But hte fishing was very good.
