What is the differance between the Infared(IR) and Spectrical Response (SR) lighting use for aqua vu cameras?

thanks

to be honest i dont know but what i do know is this..I have a aqwa veiw Z/60 and my buddie has the same one but it has INFRA LIGHTS mine dont, we fished one nite for crappie and tryed the lights...they work SO SO you can se the fish when ther right in front of the cam but there is no real distance at nite maybe 12" now with my reg lites on the veiw in the beam of lite was not real clear but you could see, but couldnt find my bait (spikes) you prob could see your minnow tho. Now my buddies cam with the IR lights was as clear as mine BUT his picked up all the ZOO PLANKTON and particles floating around which made it kinda hard to see.....

anyway i will NEVER freeze my arse off again for a few crappie at nite!!! i dont ever think i wa tha tcold!! lol it was about 11 degrees that nite at CUBA LAKE IN WESTERN N.Y. but in my opinion The IR LITES dont do squat ....hope this helps ya... :o ;D
The Best TIME of my life was when I could disappear for DAYS on end, trolling the gutter on an epic bender, PAUSING ONLY for meals and the amount of time it took me to take money from my wallet and place it on the BAR!!!!! <br />[iii]D[/color]   I AM ALSO A RECREATIONAL SPECIALIST, best and Fastest, Boats, Mini Bikes, Coldest Beer and Fast chugger...ha!

Here is a link that I think gets into this topic pretty well. My understanding is that IR needs less light to work tehn SR technology, so  you are able to use the camera longer after dark. If you are primarily a night fisherman or fish extreme depths the IR is the way to go.
