Has anyone fished Chitek Lake this winter?

All I know was that no one was even on the lake between Christmas and new years, in fact I think there was still open water!  I will ask a few guys at work and let you know if I hear any more recent updates.

I was going to contact CO's office to see what is happening up that way as well.

I just got off the phone with a Conservation Officer and he told me that Chitek is okay by snowmobile, but they are not recommending any vehicles on the lake at this time.  Due to the extreme snowfall and flood waters, caution is recommended at all fishing destinations in this area.  Most of these lakes have natural springs and are not safe during the best of times he told me.
