Opening Day Results

My son Brad and I headed north yesterday morning to one of our favorite spots for early ice.  The weather was terrible, the roads were horrible, and a pounding hangover didn't help any.  We had a great opening day.  There was 6-7" of ice, several flags and some jigging action.  Saw about a dozen other anglers out and everyone seemed to be catching fish.  I iced a 13" brookie and a 22" 3 1/4 lb togue.  I intend to enter both for team Maine (1st time in the tourney for me) as soon as my son emails me the pics he took of me holding the fish.  Here are the photos I took with my camera.

 



Hope the ice holds for next weekend!

nicklbrso, I don't mind you asking but Bluefinforme is right on.  I'm afraid posting info like that here would just get me pushed right outta 'my' spot.  It's fairly remote and gets kinda crowded as it is.  If you and I get a chance to fish together I'd be happy to take you up and show what little I know, assuming you let me pick your brain some also.  The way the weather looks this week I'm wondering if there will be any ice left by Friday for any of us.  Be careful all!

Geez Buddah, you got to let us mere mortals catch a few once in a while, it adds to the Buddah mystique and grows the legend ;D  My guess is redemption is only a trip away!  (sorry to hijack Shortpole)
