Got out yesterday for the first time to Last Mountain Lake (long lake) Although the fishing was a little slow on the bite, there was fish showing up on the cam and on the vex most of the day. Mainly small perch with a few larger ones coming through. We were fishing north of Pelican Point. There were a few shacks dotted along the shore lines, but no homesteads set up yet. We found the ice was between 13/14 inches at a few spots and 18/19 in others. Although we didn't cross the lake, and not sure if I would until I drilled a few holes on the way to check the thickness, we did see one truck cross. There is a start of a few pressure ridges here and there that you should be careful of and the ice does have some huge cracks that you should be aware of, but all in all, the season on the lake is well on its way
