Make a glare spot on the ice. Drill 3 holes about 10 feet apart, and get 6 hockey pucks. then play it like Texas horseshoes. Whoever gets to 21 wins. We only do this when were pike fishing. Then we usually tell someone to go to the store and put a beercan or something on his hook when he's gone. Or well tie a jigpole line to his tip up (s) and watch the dumb ***** run for it. Usually we'll drill a few holes too. HAhaha, its usually my dad. He falls for it every time. Usually he drops the 30 pack though

 I got 2 new ones for ya........

 1) maggot racing,  get a bucket lid or something else round. Choose your maggot, warm him up, give him a pep talk, massage his back, name him. Make crazy bets with your buds, put your maggots in the middle of the lid, first to the edge or to fall off is the winner! (can be played in summer also, switch the maggots for frogs)

 2) freaky dancing game. To play you need to be fishing outside in an open area with lots of random strangers around, pick a stranger - this is THE ONE.  You and your budski's all do some freaky dancing, either like a hippy on acid or james brown or something pretty odd, heres the game - the chosen one must not catch you dancing! nobody else seeing matters, in fact its better if everone see's, except the chosen one, don't let him see you! everytime the chosen one glances in your direction you gotta stop dancing and act natural, as soon as his backs turned, dance some more!  its freakin hillarious, esspecially as his mates will catch on and keep laughing and pointing over at you,  just don't get caught by the chosen one!

 A good practical joke is to poke a pin hole or 2 in your buddies beer/pop can, in line with the mouth hole. Everytime he takes a sip he's gonna think he missed his mouth!

 I'll be playing perch darts some time this yr i just know it, thanks!

its not really a game but my buddy and me have an open challenge going. when fishing together, the first to ice a 40"+ pike or musky must strip to just boots and run a lap on the lake. (if the lake is huge then we figure out a reasonable distance beforehand). has never happened (37" last year) but is always worth a laught or two talking about. one of these days that wish will come, hope im the first one to the tipup!

me and my dad generally play  a game, unnanounced, called "throw a perch at your fishin buddy as hard as you can, aim for the head"

Heres another game to play when the bite is slow:

1. With an eight inch auger, drill a series of holes from shallow to deeper water.

2. Take live bait, place on jig then drop into hole.

3. Slow down your former movements when the bite was fast and furious, but probe the water column.

4. If no luck, move to another hole.

5. The winner is he who figures out how to catch fish when the bite slows down.

6. You may need to relocate to a different area on the ice.

7. Sometimes changing colors, down-sizing jigs or switching bait types can assist you at winning this game.

On a slow day IF you get a flag, you'll be sure to have a buddy there just to see a fish FINALLY get caught. When you pull it out of the hole, make a big swing, nothing like sliming someone with a gator!

Occasionally someone will bring a pellet gun and misteriously tip-ups start goin up but nothing is wrong on the bait end of it. 

both are kinda cruel but when the fishing is slow there is not much else to do

Beersbee is a favorite game of ours.  http://www.beersbee.org/rules.html

On the ice, we just use a pair of augers as the poles and a bucket lid for the frisbee.  Other than that, all of the same rules apply.

beer, cribbage, beer... repeat untill beer is gone or bite starts, if bite does not start....... (the rules get kinda foggy after that.. something about beer i think?)

Best game there is to play during a slow bite is called drill more holes,try a different lure or color, switch up presentation, relocate, change target species, add new mojo to jigging sequence. Seems to keep me occupied most of the time.
