I get laughed at until cold sets in, but I have a fur bunny hat made by columbia that shuns -50 windchill like it aint no thing. The ear flaps snap under the chin. I also wear a poly liner under for wicking and when I have to hump it on foot a long ways.

i use the mad bomber hat in extreme cold weather and you can't beat it. you may look like a goon but you will stay warm.

I go with WVBOY and Bud in that my wife got me the ugliest rabbit fur lined hat on clearance (nobody else would buy the thing) for a couple of dollars and is great. Ear warmers snap up or down and covers the ears nicely. It is a columbia brand like WVBOY's and have worn it for years.

picked up a Under Armour knit hat a few weeks ago and it seems to hold in the heat but I have been looking for a mad bomber hat very soon.

A baclava is good because they are long enough to cover your neck as well and can be worn with hoodies, stocking hats ect... I have personally used one for years keeps the ears toasty and helps to prevent windburn

MAd bomber is a good one.
I got a couple of Stormy Kromers too, but the bomber is warmer when things are bad cold.

Until I get the mad bomber hat I have the knit Under Armour hat and a Headsokz balacava. With these 2 my cranium does not get cold at all, so far so good.
