Wondering where there is ice near Berkshire county
« on: Feb 14, 2023, 05:46 PM »
Coming in from Berkshire county for the free weekend and was wondering if anyone knew ice conditions on the Tomhannock reservoir, dyken pond, burden lake and or Snyders lake.  Also are pop up shanties allowed at Tomhannock and is there any real parking near synders.  Sorry for the barrage of questions.  Hope the ice holds with the upcoming warmup, I know the ice here is sadly retreating.  Any info is appreciated and thanks in advance.

I researched that area last week and it looked bad.  Didnt make the trip.
If you can't play nice, get off the ice!

Lots of open water at the tomhannock when I drove by Sunday. I can’t speak for the others. Grafton ponds had plenty of ice but not sure going into the weekend what conditions will be like.

other than grafton i wouldnt step 1 foot on any of those lakes, with todays wind many will open right back up. we were on a lake up North yesterday on 8" and in under 2hrs the ice was rotting away under our feet, scary stuff, got outta there fast, sounded like rice crispies popping and melting, chalk it up as a  loss this season.
