The game was exciting one to say the least, the last couple have been good games all the way to the end. Guess some might have won some good money on this one. I do not bet as I always seem to lose the money and would rather use it to head to the lake. Seen some pretty crazy bets out there this year. The dinner raised them some money and now to just see how much more we have to throw in the pot for rooms. They were trying to get enough built up so that the rooms were paid for and it sounds like it might be close. Well better get a move on and check out the headlights on the MIL car the daughter is driving the low beams are low and the wife wants them fixed. The daughter had a dog run out in front of her last night, so it was an eventful one while trying to finish the game so headed to get her and all, luckily we have dish and just paused it. Well have a great Monday everyone. See how this one goes and see how the sister plant is doing and if any progress is going on, sucks I could have probably showed my skills and got a little more recognition on things, but that is what happens when we are the only plant supplying a critical customer. Habe a good one.

Good Morning Everyone, 33* here and expecting a big snowstorm tomorrow according to the weather guessers. That was quite a game last night. My wife came home so we watched it after half time. I was glad to see the Clydesdales back.

MasonEddie, Was Pawn Stars a rerun? I always thought it was a good show.

WallyWorld, Hopefully Mr WallyWorld didn’t have too many emergencies yesterday.

Hunts2long, Does your nephew have a lot of trees to tap? Nothing better than fresh Maple Syrup.

Ice Wanderer, Your right it has been a boring winter.

I hope everyone has a great day and a safe one.

Take a kid ice fishing

Good Morning ER's  the ice is still holding out need 4-5 days before freezing around the clock again. Time will tell. The game was close all the way through the kid from the badgers was the one who took the ball away from one of the 49ers. The first couple commercials were fun. The 49er player who was jumping up and down hurt himself on the sideline should go on bloopers.

Good day all, I was rooting for KC all the way and figured it was going to be a nail biter which it was, today finds me in a snow storm, heavy wet one, they just don’t know how to drive in this stuff, cars in the ditches everywhere.

OG hope your ice holds in for you

Take care and be safe

Good evening, prayer said for those killed in the Houston church shooting. If weather guessers are correct Winter is returning this week snow forecast to start around midnight 3-5 inches on the ground when it ends, Another storm coming on Thursday and Snow showers on Saturday morning.
Ice Wanderer sounds like you had a nice evening enjoying good food and drink while watching a close exciting football game.
Hunts2long nice to read that your nephew and his friends had a good trip. I see he is busy preparing for this year's maple sap/syrup season.
Wallyworld agree with your comment to me see if the forecast is correct by week's end. So far this Winter i think I've seen a week to 10 days of snow covered ground before there are bare spots.
Edie as we age and our taste in music changes I find myself listening mostly to what is now considered oldies or classic rock. So like you would not be familiar with the current hot artists and there music so probably would not have enjoyed the half time show. May Molly behave for you this week with all the snow in forecast.
Fish/hunt4ever glad your daughter is alright after the run-in with a dog while driving. may the dinner have raised enough funds to cover the cost of rooms besides the other expenses.
Icefisher-45 nice that you and the wife could watch the game together. May she not have to stay by the hospital this week.
Old Goat if you see any snow it may help to keep the ice on local lakes.
IFF I assume snow is not a frequent event in Missouri so people not accustomed to driving in it like you are after living in Colorado.

Have a good night. May all in the Northeast get through the coming storm in good shape.

                     Good morning ER's,
It's 26* and cloudy here on my hill. ::)
H2l.............I would have thought this winter sap would have almost been running with all the temperature changes we've had.
Eddie..........I hope everything goes good this week with Molly being there all week. I didn't watch the halftime show, I came home
                     during it.
Steve..........Even tho I still have snow on the ground, I think the southern part of eastern NY has gotten more snow than I have here. But
February and March aren't over. Like Yogi said "It ain't over till it's over"
                             Wally...........You didn't do anything yesterday? ???
Fish.............I've noticed the same thing in my lights too when the low beams are on, I'm thinking of getting the white LED lights.
I-45.............It was nice that your wife was home to watch the second half with you.
OG..............Hopefu lly your area will get some colder temperatures.
Bud.............I've noticed that most of your area they don't get the snow that you and us northerner's get, so it's no wonder there were a lot of cars
                    in the ditch.
I have a therapy appointment this morning, then I don't have a plan, I'll just wing it.
I hope everyone has a good Tuesday either at work or out. Stay safe and Healthy.

30* and cloudy.

Ice-45, not sure how many trees he taps, but last Spring I believe he made about 200 gallons of syrup.

IW, he said a few guys are boiling but the sugar content has been real low.

I can't remember watching the halftime show and I don't think I saw an ad that jumped out at me. Most of the ads you have no idea of what or who they are for, until the end.

Good Morning Everyone,
Cloudy and 28*, high of 37 forecasted. Was pleasantly surprised last evening watching local news that the approaching storm and heavy snow was going to stay South and not reach my area, woohoo!     May see a trace to an inch now…we’ll take it!

Jeff…hope the therapy session goes well for you this morning.   About halfway through February now, hopefully March doesn’t throw too many curve balls at us…speaking of curveballs, MLB pitchers and catchers starting back to work this week!
H2…seems everything has changed, and for $7 million for a 30 second commercial you would think you’d see some pretty sensational advertising!!  :cookoo:
Steve…will keep the fingers crossed your area doesn’t get clobbered with this storm, be safe with the driving.
Bud…glad you were safe in your travels!   Some people just don’t understand how to drive cautiously with slick roads, others shouldn’t be driving period.
OG..hope the ice holds for you!      We have some similar weather moving in, I may get one trip in with my sons yet locally.
I-45…hope the storm is on the same track and misses your area as well.  Yes, the Pawn Stars episode I watched was a rerun for sure…enjoy that show as well.
FH4…sorry to read that about your daughter and the dog running out, never a good thing to go through. Hope she is ok…
Marv…hope all is well, still standing by for a report soon!!
Wally…will the bakery be open for business today?   Forgot to mention yesterday that I saw a few trikes and bikes out on Sunday.

Stoked we dodged the bullet with this approaching storm. Hopefully over the next few days the temperatures help build some ice, sure would enjoy one trip out on the ice yet.
Almost time to start some seed’s again, hope I didn’t jinx myself saying that!   Cawfee’s on… ;D
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Morning all,

IW......pretty much nothing but puttering around  ::)

Eddie.....the meeting Sunday got postponed sine the club president couldn't make it, on this Sunday's agenda  :-\  fingers crossed for a  :icefish: trip in your future  ;)

H2L.....what little I saw of the game ads there was nothing that had me rushing to spend money on

MrC/IF45......hope you both get thru the storm w/o any problems

OG.....there's always the casino to kill time waiting for ice  @)

A couple errands today that's about it. Still looks like we're going to be well north of this storm

IW, I totally missed the adjustment on the top of the headlight to adjust the height of the beams, I guess I just learned on the old stuff that had all the adjustment on the vehicle not the headlight assembly.  These new things sometimes make life easier but most the time they just cause more headaches.

Well another day will go and see if the coworker is fighting the machine after yesterdays PM, hopefully not as I had promised everyone that this one would go smooth and no impact.  But we will see what the excuses are today.  have a good one everyone.

Good evening, looking at reports my estimate is that MY town received around 10 inches of snow from the storm. Already melting trees back to mostly bare branches after being snow covered this morning. I had to drop my SUV off for service this morning guessing there was already 4-5 inches on the ground at 8:30 AM .
One new recall and an Update on another. Since Quaker Oats issued a recall in mid.December of 2023 on several of their Granola bars more items have been added to the recall concern is Salmonella contamination. My humble opinion stay away from Quaker Oats product for the time being. If you buy store brand oatmeal, oatmeal cookies inquire of store employees to see if they know who produces their store brand so you do not possibly get sick.
Fratelli Berreta USA recalling Ready TO Eat (RTE) meat charcuterie products. The Copa (dry cured Capicola) may not have been processed properly and could cause illness. Recalled products are various size Antipasto and Variety pack (18oz) products will have either of these establishment numbers (ESTM47967) or (EST M7547B) in the USDA inspection shield or ink-jet printed on the package. Various expiration/sell by dates.
Ice Wanderer may your therapy session have gone well today. You maybe correct about the snowfall totals. believe i received 8 inches from one storm in January.
Hunts2long best wished for your nephew with this year maple sap/syrup season.
Icefisher-45 I believe it takes on average 35 to 40 gallons of sap to produce one gallon of finished syrup. So unless trees are fairly large and can safely handle multiple taps one needs many trees to run a comercial operation.
Eddie yes the storm's track changed South Eastern, NY and Northeast NJ. received majority of the snow. talked with my sister on Monday night she and my B-I-L had today off as the school districts they work for had already cancelled classes. Also good for you not having to deal with snow when walking Molly and your other dogs. Besides the MLB pitchers-catchers reporting for Spring training the NCAA college Lacrosse season has started so Spring is on it's way. March can be tricky seen a few major storms during that month in my lifetime.
Wallyworld thank you for the good wishes thankfully no problems for me from this storm.
fish/hunt4ever I tried replacing headlight on my first vehicle 1979 Olds Cutlass Supreme between the different screws used with trim, etc and then me messing up the light adjustment had to go to repair shop. Lesson learned I knew for the future do not touch certain screws or you change the headlight's adjustment. I hope you have the lights correctly adjusted now on your M-I-L's vehicle.
IFF safe travels wished for you. Did you give Linda a quick course on using a snow blower before heading to Missouri or ask a neighbor to help her if needed i see this storm also hit parts of Tennessee.

Everyone Have a good Valentine's Day. This year it falls on Ash Wednesday (start of Lenten season in Christian religions). So you may have to alter your food menu for the day to keep with religious practices.
Keep safe and stay healthy.

Good Morning ER's hope all are doing well. The weather is cooperating so a little rain/snow tonight then freezing around the clock again. WW went to kill some time at casino did good first hour and a half but after that curiosity on a machine took my winnings back and the $ I had with me oh well I knew that was possible. Now I'll have to sell something to pay for a toll pass. This season has been tuff always on shallow water. I'll fiddle with the tiny float and see if it will hold up with the 1/100 oz cjs demon and 1 spike. Have a good day all.

Good Morning Everyone,
Happy Valentines Day/Hump Day!!   Mostly cloudy and 18*,  blustery winds gusting in the upper 30’s, high of 26.

OG…I think the “knowing when to quit when ahead” is the hardest lesson to learn…better luck next trip!
Steve…thank you again for the recall updates. Hope the snow has cleared out of your area now, be safe on the roads today!    Best of luck to your high school and college lacrosse teams this season!
Bud…hope you arrived safe and sound at the farm humming that tune…. ;D
FH4…just changing out the bulbs on some of the newer vehicles can be a real PITA…. :%$#!:  Hope your day went smoothly yesterday and not too many issues with the machine.
Wally…not much more than a dusting of snow here this morning. Might see a couple inches on the ground again by the weekend, maybe that will miss us also…have a few new lures that need to be deployed!  ;D

Walking my dogs yesterday morning found a tell tale sign of Spring, or should I say smelled? Seems the skunks are back on the property….taking up residence underneath my shed again, Doh!  Going to try a few deterrents today..mothballs, apple cider vinegar soaked rags, cayenne pepper and see if that works. Have a live trap and considering making a few snares…any other tips or suggestions?
Don’t forget some sweets for your Sweets today if that applies…Cawfee’s on!   ;D
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

16* clear, windy and a dusting of snow.

IFF, be safe out on the roads.

Eddie, my wife gave up sweets for Lent and we can't have plants or flowers in the house, but I did make "pancakes' last night for dinner.

WW, imagine a commercial at halftime for $.59/dozen eggs, half the TV's in America would have been turned off, the 1st half was pretty boring.

Glad we didn't have to go to the city yesterday, that trip in coming up in a couple weeks.

Have a good day and be safe....h2l

Good morning from the farm. 27* looks like it will be a bright sunny day

Thanks for the good travel wishes.  Got in little after 8:30.   Will be looking at my breaks, had to get on them hard a couple times and didn’t feel like the best.  But hung in there,  Now. Need to chase away the chill with a nice fire in the stove and plan out my day

Good evening, high temperature today was in the mid thirties with 10-15 mph winds. I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day. Updates on two recalls besides the cured meats products I mentioned in yesterday's post Fratelli Berretta USA has also expanded it's recall on Bussetto brand products (issued in Dec. 2023) and products they provide for Dietz and Watson (long know brand in Northeast PA.,NJ, and Southeastern NY.) The concern with the Bussetto and Dietz and Watson products is Listeria Contamination.
The recall on Rizo-Lopez foods products has been expanded to include taco and salad making kits along with bottles of different dressings that contain cheese and cheese products. these products are for sale at Walmart, Sam's club and other grocery store chains across the U. S . .
Old Goat while it is not good to loose money if you know when to stop and can afford to part with so much of your money all is fine with visiting the casino.
Eddie ,thank you for the lacrosse well wishes see what happens this season on both the college and local high school level. may you get a chance to try out your new lures. besides your deterrents possibly try some rags soaked in Ammonia or bleach .
Hunts2long very nice of you to make breakfast for your wife this morning. It would have been a challenging drive to NYC yesterday depending on the time of your wife's appointment. snow was falling at the rate of 1-2 inches per hour between 8-10 AM. here in my area.
Wallyworld guess some folks figure they will take advantage of the warmer temperature and dry weather to do some bike riding. I'm glad the storm caused my sister/BIL and Me no problems.
IFF good to read you made it home safely to Tennessee. Be careful with any driving until you get the brakes repaired.

May everyone have a good night. Best to all fishing this week. Prayers for all involved in the Kansas City Super Bowl parade shootings.

               Good morning ER's,
It's 15* and clear here on my hill. ::)
Fish...........I haven't messed with the adjustment on the headlights, but maybe I should check that out.
Bud...........I hope it nothing serious with your brakes.
Eddie.........I'm glad that the snow didn't amount to too much so you didn't have any problems with Molly. Watch out if you catch the skunk
in a live trap. lol :roflmao:
H2l............Pancake s for dinner is always a good alternative for an easy meal.
Wally.........I've seen a few bikes out on the nicer days. But there is one guy here in my town rides his bike everyday to work. :cookoo:
Steve........I'm glad the snow stayed on the light side.
There was a one inch of snow here yesterday morning which actually helped, it was all ice and the snow gave some traction. Tuesday afternoon I
went to my neighbors thru the woods on a path that I made with the snow blower all winter, I had to put on my fishing boots with the ice cleats to comfortably
              walk.
I have therapy this morning, my shoulder seems to be at a standstill.
I hope everyone has a good Thursday either at work or out. Stay safe and Healthy.

Good Morning Everyone, 17* and dark this morning. I hope everyone had a good Valentines Day. Weather guessers say we’re supposed to get 1-3” of snow tonight. We didn’t get anything last storm. Me and Mr Dickens will be going to the transfer station today and a walk around the lake.

Ice Wanderer, Good luck at therapy today. Great joke today 🤣.

MasonEddie, Be careful of the skunks. I have several new lures as well this year to try out. This year going to try and use a Baitcaster.

Hunts2long, That was very nice of you to make pancakes for breakfast.

WallyWorld, Definitely crazy weather this year. When do you start prepping the boat?

Prayers for everyone involved in the shooting yesterday at the KC parade. 🙏 I hope everyone has a great day and a safe one.

11* and clear.

Tuesday was "Shrove Tuesday", the day before Lent begins, hence the pancakes for dinner. The wife follows the tradition, I make them, because, I make the "best" pancakes.

Ice-45, Scout and I made the transfer station run on Monday.

IW, good luck at therapy today.

WW, have fun at the Expo, we have one coming up in Johnstown on 24/25th. I bet it will be smaller than the one you are going to. Not sure if I am going or not, there will be a lot of people.

Well they are calling for some snow here, looks like they are calling for 1 to 6 inches, saying we might only see a max of 3 inches, so I guess I better prepare for 10 to 12 and just see how it all turns out.  Cooler temps for the next couple of days with nothing above freezing so that should lock up the ice some more, have heard anything from it is great to watch out for the open spots, but the only ones who post pictures of how it is are the ones saying it is good.  Hope everyone had a good valentines day, we have a dinner this Friday so nothing much last night except swim practice and I cleaned the house a bit while the wife was out.  Have a good one everyone, stay safe everyone.

Good evening , weather guesser's saying snow tomorrow night into Saturday for my area. No snow fall totals posted yet on Weather Underground.  Some of you may remember my posts about a bus accident this pas September on Interstate 84. (one of multiple buses traveling together carrying students, staff and chaperones from the Farmingdale, NY. school district0 hey were headed to a band camp event in Pennsylvania the bus had a tire blow out driver lost control and went down embankment bus rolled two adults were killed and all 40 students on the bus injured. After this crash emergency services in the greater Middletown, NY. area and local officials asked for an emergency gate to interstate 84 be installed as it would have saved time for crews responding to the accident. Story on my local newspaper's website today construction of a gate will start this Spring.

Ice Wanderer may your therapist have some ideas to get you back to making progress from your sessions and exercises. Good thinking wearing your boots and creepers on walk to your neighbors.
icefisher-45 have fun learning to use a baitcasting reel. I have a couple should use them this Spring biggest adjustment is learning how much pressure to keep on line to prevent back lashes.
Wallyworld best wished for your grandson as he takes up the sport of lacrosse. his playing ice hockey should help with the hand-eye coordination need to catch and keep the ball in your stick whale running on the field. Then comes learning to pass and shoot on goal while running if playing an offensive position.. There are similarities to hockey in lacrosse. Tell your son and D-I-L to get ready to spend more money on equipment like hockey not a cheap sport to play.
hunts2long may your wife have recipes for meat less meals and fish for Friday nights in Lent.
Fish/hunt4ever hopefully you receive the lower end of projected snow fall. Best to your children if their is a swim meet this weekend. Enjoy dinner tomorrow night.

Stay safe, keep healthy. best to all fishing.

            Good morning ER's,
It's 18* and lightly snowing, here on my hill. ::)
Wally...........Have a good trip west to the fishing expo.
H2l.............All these religious traditions baffle me but I'm sure they serve a purpose. So your wife will be eating a lot of vegetables and fish.
Fish............May the snow stay on the lite side.
I-45............Bait casters can be tricky to learn without a tangle here and there.  :flex:
Steve..........There should be an emergency gate halfway between all the exits and on ramps.
The guessers called for 1 to 3 inches of snow, I see about 5 inches out there this morning and the wind is blowing a gale.Saturday
I'm dog sitting for #2 son, he took his family to a indoor water park until tomorrow. Surprising she and the weather cat are getting along.
I guess snow removal is in store for me today.
I hope everyone has a good Friday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

Good Morning Everyone, 28* here and very windy. We got about a 1” of snow. Mr Dickens enjoys rolling around in the snow. Not much on the planner today.

Ice Wanderer, Be careful with the snow removal. Was your therapist able to help with your shoulder? That’s good the pup and weather cat are getting along. Mr Dickens and our cat get along but he doesn’t like it when she wants to wrestle. I can’t get any more birds nest then I do now 😂.

WallyWorld, Hope you had a good time at the fishing expo.

Hunts2long, I bet scout enjoyed going to the transfer station.

MasonEddie, Hope you are well and have a good day.

I hope everyone has a great day and a safe one.

MasonEddie,
Take a kid ice fishing

22* and it looks like about 4 or 5 inches of snow.

IW, the wife goes to Mass every Sunday, on TV. She was going over to the church but covid put a stop to that. She does give "something' up for Lent and has to have fish on Friday's, but she likes fish.

Ice-45, Scout gets a "treat" from the guy at the landfill!

The wind has really pick-up since I got up, should be fun cleaning the driveway.

Have a good day and be well....h2l

Morning all,

Got to The Falls about 2 minutes before the snow started 👍🏻 not many people at the expo yesterday, guessing it will get a little busier each day.

Have a good day. Stay safe, stay healthy.

Good Morning Everyone,
24* with snow falling, winds are cranking up to 40mph, high of 32 today. Looks like about 3-4” of new snow best I can tell.

Wally…glad you had safe travels yesterday and have a great time at the fishing expo!! Keeping the fingers crossed the lake effect snow isn’t too bad there today.
H2…agree, it’s going to be fun cleaning up the driveway, I’m going to wait awhile…there are white ground twisters going on out there right now!  :woot:  I was raised Catholic, Lent was certainly a challenging time as a kid/young man.
I-45…glad the snow stayed on the light side for you!   I have a Newfoundland mix who loves to roll in the snow also, loves the ice cold weather.
Jeff…glad the weather cat and your sons dog are getting along, sure makes things easier!   They were calling for 1-3” here also…pretty close. Best wishes with the recovery and seeing some improvement soon. I’m kind of in the same boat yet with my leg.
Steve…thanks for the update, agree with Jeff. They definitely should have had more access points in place years ago. Hopefully this one to be built will be a start of many to come.
FH4…enjoy the dinner out this evening, hope your Friday goes well.
Bud…hope all is going well back at the farm!

Thoughts and prayers to all those involved in that senseless shooting in Kansas City.   :%$#!: :cookoo:
Looks like most of the snow has stopped now. Seeing just flurries in between wind gusts, lol.  Well, tomorrow is the drawing for The Walleye Challenge. Hopefully one of us will walk away with something memorable this year!   :flex:
  Cawfee’s on….
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!
