Walleye tip ups

How far off the bottom do you set your bait when using tip ups for walleye both during the day and at night? Just want to make sure I'm in the right ball park this weekend. I use large minnows for walleye.

i use bass shiners about a foot off the bottom and set them between 6 and 12 ft of water at sunrise and sunset

in clear water lakes i set them 2-3 ft up.
