Vexilar FL-8SE

Has anyone used this model on Willow Slough? I am looking to buy one and that is my primary lake. I was told that the power has a hard time turning down low enough for shallow water.

Vexilar makes a s cable that cuts the fl8se power in half,like low power mode on other models.
