Vexlar use
« on: Jan 07, 2022, 06:13 AM »
With this supper clear smooth ice i would think i could scan thru the ice looking for target area before ever cutting a hole. Should show up as if it were hanging in water. Take a bottle of water with you. Cover alot of ground searching. Clear ice can be our friend.

It works to varing degrees based on thickness..cloudiness. .and traped air bubbles...but great for locating the break.

Yes, you think correct this is a method that has been in use for quite some time.

That's what I've seen also but the ice I'm hearing about this year at this point sounds great for this use.
