I can't believe it would be illegal anywhere if it is then minners are illegal too!! we use everything for bait here in Illinois including live bluegills and let me tell ya, ya ought to see the cats you can catch on a 9" gill


I feel you with bluegills for bait, they are my go to bait in florida. I have caught 25+ pound blue catfish, several bass over 5 pounds and one over 8, and I have caught several snook and tarpon taking bluegills to freshwater/saltwater spillways after it rains. I love gills as bait, dead or alive.

both work well all you need is  some saw dust or wood shavings  put about 2 inches in the bottom of a 10 gallon tank or a bucket with a cover toss in a few cut up raw potatoes and put in the worms and the will eat and breed and keep well for a long time just replace cut potatoes as needed

are fish eyes ilegal on some states? I have used pearch eyes before on a gold swedish pimple and stinger hook, and nailed a really really nice laker, 23 inches and atleast 3 pounds. the guy that watched me catch a food chains worth of fish and bait while he caught nothing came over to me and told me fish eyes were ilegal as bait in NH

As far as I know ,unless they changed it,pearch eyes and ANY gamefish is illigal to use as bait in South Dakota.
