Like hardwaterdiehard said, get them. It'll save your sled on concrete and stone. It's better the runners take the abuse than the sled.

I got the eskimo runnners and they save the tub, especially when dragging on concrete asphalt.

I have that house and the down side is that the tub is flimsy.

I had a wide one for 5 years, put the runners on it right away, Pulled it maybe 3 times behind a wheeler, rest was by hand. I can say it definitely helped on asphalt or concrete. On snow I couldnt tell the difference. I think every sled is going to get heavy when pulley by hand regardless. Even with a smitty sled it can be a bear. Last winter I went to an otter cottage, Never put runners on it and pulled it behind the atv all year, on concrete at the landings and in my driveway it sucked. Alot more weight to the cottage than the Wide one though.

The runners you talk about are hyfax- they are more for wear than easy pulling. If you are pulling by hand, a Smitty is going to make more difference- it is slicker if you keep it waxed, and lifts more of the tub up out of the snow.  Look for the Smitty threads on how to make or buy one.

Unless they have made changes in the last couple years

Hot bucket of water to bend the tips and trim lock  weather striping ..and use a smaller drill bit .. when going through the Hyfax and drilling into sled ..the bolt the bolt will stay secure as you wrestle with the nuts..even better have someone to help you ..it a PITA buy yourself ..can be done solo though .

Yes, cheaper to replace the runners than the whole sled.
