bait food??

ok well i was feeding my minnows today with some pond food and the thought crossed my mind. Do you think it matters on what kind of food you feed them? i mean do u guys think that if i fed them something else it could effect how many fish i caught?? any thoughts would be great!!

I have never fed any of my minnows. I am guessing that you have a good stock of them that you caught to use for ice fishing. I have to buy them as I go.

yah i got bored last weekend and threw my traps out well 4 days later and i have over 300 chubs to feed and take care of till ice fishing

I'd maybe ask at a bait shop to what they do to keep them alive.

I feed mine some fish food about once a week if I have a large amount. They seem happy, but I do not know if you really need to feed them.

i never feed any of my bait, it just makes the water nasty from the food and there poop. plus they eat enough food while there in the trap for like a month, but thats just my thought 8)

i use a can of cheap bread crumbs from the store. just sprinkle a small amount on the surface and watch them go crazy  :) but as someone said earlier you dont need to feed them alot because the water gets nasty and just more work you have to do  ;)2
