Upgrades to the ice house for upcoming season
« on: Nov 07, 2006, 08:23 PM »
Made a few upgrades to the big house for this season: new paint, routered out a new sign, built a small table for cooking and cards. The biggest upgrade is a small ceiling fan which should keep the condesation from the ventless heater down, cant wait to see how nice it works. Bring on the ice!  ;D

Lookin good, I just wish we had ice thick enough and ice that would last long enough to put up a shanty like that. Let us know how it works this year

Sweet digs.  Do you have any problems with the generator for that fan spooking the fish?

It is 8*12

We'll have to see how the fan works with a battery an inverter, it should work pretty well though, the fan isnt supposed to draw very much power.

That place is nicer than my house!  How is does the carpet stand up over the winter, or do you actually take off your boots when you go in?

The carpet should hold up just fine, it is supposed to be all weather stuff, havent had any problems. It gets wet on a regular basis when drilling the holes and such, but it usually dries out pretty good. It should dry alot faster with the overhead fan now too.

How many holes does it have? I like the crank up wheels, you have done a good job. Looks like it will be fun to sleep in too!

It has 6 holes equipped with rattle reels. Spending the night is pretty fun but it is usually really hot on the top bunk and cold on the bottom, hopefully the ceiling fan will take care of that.
