I’m going to give it a go. Can’t let a little snow stop me. Might have to break out the snowshoes!

i fear the snow will just blow the holes shut.  if wind shuts down sure.

I might try later today, but it mostly depends on the roads. I just called off work a bit ago(around 330am, I work at 5am) It is knee deep in my driveway and I drive a compact car, and it was still snowing at the time. Gonna have to get the snowblower out once it gets to a reasonable time to be making a bunch of noise.

It just stopped snowing about 430am here. It's hard to judge how much we got because of all the blowing and drifting, but I would ballpark it at 4-6" of really fluffy powder.

I was worried about the snow here. I just got back fishing last Saturday after three years off. They were calling for 9-13" which would be bad for my walking problems. Woke up and discovered I wont even have to bother starting the snow blower. We didn't get 2".

We got a bunch. It will take days to get the roads cleared to where most of us park. Walking to spots will be tough. Another storm coming in a couple days. This may be a season ender with all the snow on top and warmer air coming. Big problem short term will be the parking.

My car has about 6" of ground clearance, and it is pretty helpless in much snow. I've had it stuck a few times in shin deep snow.

Wind has died off here. Just finished blowing the driveway. It was drifted halfway up the car doors.

Couldn't handle all that shoveling Chad, no wonder you're skinny as a bean pole!  My 24" 2 stage blower was non too big today.  Good winter to own one for sure.  Been a while since we needed one.  I need to get it on the hitch now and get moving now that I can get out of the drive.  Wonder how long before the plows hit my street, maybe tomorrow?!

Just finished clearing the drive out and am thinking about checking out the neighbors pond this afternoon. He has a 6 acre pond that needs fished badly. Lots of dinks so we’re weeding a few out. Haven’t been there for a couple of weeks so I’m not sure what to expect. I think we maybe had about 8” here. Need to take a walk in the woods to get a good measurement. It’s not too bad out there.

I'm guessing 6 to 8 inches in newton county. 17 hours of plowing. Nap time.

I'm just on the other side of the line in Iroquois Co, and that is about what I guessed, too, but it's drifted up so much it's hard to tell. I'd say 5" bare minimum.

Well I went and fished a couple of hours this afternoon. Caught lots of dinks and probably had about 8 keepers. Did manage to catch a nice bass on my jig. I try to pull it away from them but this one just smoked it! I seen several real nice bass cruise by. The ice has several inches of slush in most places and some other areas aren’t wet at all. The spots that have soaked up water to the top are probably going to create a double layer. It’s not real pretty. The bottoms of my bibs are a block of ice. Still beats sitting in the house!

I just came off a pond... very slow. I had been out there since about 3 and only managed a handful of dink gills. The ice has about 6" of snow standing on it and the edges were a bit slushy. Main sheet was still about 9" so it hasn't gained or lost much.

Yep, the highlight of my trip was misjudging where to go onto the ice (the banks are real steep on that pond except for one small spot) and stepping off into a snowdrift up to my waist  :roflmao:

The fish were definitely not noteworthy at all... only 5 that were all about like this little bait bandit.

Question, how do you flip your picture? I tried posting one and it was sideways. I’m not the greatest with these things but usually can figure it out. This one has me stumped. Thanks

You should be able to flip it in your photo album before posting it

Unrelated... the snow definitely isn't going anywhere for at least a few more days here. The official record for today is -12°

The unusual lack of wind was a big plus. It would have been pretty miserable with a stiff breeze out there. It's up over 0° here now. I still have my gear in the car, so I may go hit some ice after work as long as the wind doesn't get ridiculous later.
