Back on Good Grounds
« on: Jan 30, 2021, 03:32 PM »
Patience and persistence pays off. I was finally able to do a solo mission out on some of my favorite grounds. Finally locked in. Was an inch last Sunday, 6" today of absolutely clear ice. Could see bottom through the ice in 10 FOW, pretty cool, but had to work even harder because if it. No spikes, and very minimal movement.
Stuck this big girl on a 5" shiner. When the jacker went off and that rod stayed buried I had a good feeling.
Really quick pic and weight and back down she went, hopefully to be caught another day. Pics never do these beautiful fish justice.
4.68 lbs. (2 weeks too early...lol)

Good looking fish J
when chuck norris played golf for money, chuck marked down a hole in zero every time, the golf pro said, "chuck: you can't score zero on a hole." Chuck norris turned towards the man and said, "I'm chuck norris, the man proceeded to pour gas over his body and set himself on fire because that would be less painful than getting roundhouse kicked by chuck norris....chuck norris roundhouse kicked him in the face anyways

Didn't get a length. It was cold and I tried to be real fast. Guessing somewhere around 20 or so.

Very nice i believe you but dont see how bows hit 5 inch shiners. They must inhale them in order to get a hook set

Big bait, big fish.
I use jackers and have no problem, unless the little dinks are trying to take it. I'm not after them...lol

Pretty hard to do anything but get the hook out and get it in the hole when it's this cold! Nice catch.

That's what happens  when you play your cards, not one mother nature hands you... I had some things to do today, so I'm heading  out tomorrow,  plan on using the can  am, so I can play my own.cards. I'm all locked and loaded baits even in the truck.
