Small windows

Got a chance to hit some pike water last week and was rewarded with good action. This is the type of season where lakes will freeze, thaw out and re-freeze for a few days. We may only have  small windows of a few days to hit the lakes that we love until at least feb so make them count and stay safe out there you guys. I don’t think there will be anything safe enough for a day guy like me for a few weeks.

Nice video, I was on Tyler w a few guys when the front rolled through and I figured it would get dead but we had a bunch of flags pop to.  Get out while you can warm temps still around for a few weeks, I plan on dusting off some more cobwebs before the rain.

Nice fish. Were you on Mansfield Hollow by any chance? I happened to drive by there before the rain and saw some people out on the ice just north of the island just off Bassett Bridge Road and the launch.

Nice. I still haven't caught a pike, the ice season is so short I usually spend it targeting trout. Maybe this year.  :tipup:

That is great to see that kind of action early in the season. And the windows are very short. I just missed that window and now ice is rebuilding again.
