Vexilar making sound
« on: Dec 19, 2020, 10:15 AM »
Hey guys, dumb question here.  Its been 2 years since I took my Vexilar FL-12 out (wasnt able to make it out last year).  I got it out the other day to check on the battery/charge it.  I pulled the transducer out and turned it on.  Now, I know flashers make a certain type of sound while theyre running, but if I put my ear up to the bottom of the transducer, it makes a very noticeable clicking noise.  Maybe thats normal?  I dont know, I just never really payed that close attention to it before.  By waving my hand underneath, it appears to be functioning fine.  Can someone tell me if this is normal?

Thank you

Appreciate the help guys.    GREAT videos BTW.

I did notice I need a new battery though.  Its always, for some reason, only charged up to like 97%, never showing 100%.  Never was an issue.  But after taking it off the charger, it immediately dipped down to like 70%.  Its the original battery.

Time for a new one I think.

Thats correct. That's the signal it's sending out.  Just like dolphins clicking.  ;)
