Was feeling well enough to fish today, hobbled our on Manning Lake for the derby, fishing was so non stop we didn’t have time to cook the food we brought or relax but that’s a good thing. Weather was awesome. Went through 5 dozen baits. At the end we were just catching fish on floaters. I got into the grand prize pool but my name wasn’t drawn. I took 2nd place perch. We caught some real healthy Bass both Largies and Smallies and a ton of fat yellows. Not a single trout caught on the lake. My buddy with the Largie is the guy who took big laker all weekend for the Meredith Derby. I’m waiting for more pics to pop up from the weigh in. It was fun to just hang and burn through bait.

Glad you had such a good day Frank, Was very slow where I was today. I used to fish manning way before it was so popular, like back in 92, never saw another fisherman out there, mostly fished it in spring early summer..

All kidding aside, it was an awesome weather day out there and rippin through bait is a blast from time to time.
I was contemplating heading over there for that derby, never done that one.
Great bass lake but I'm not surprised no one caught any trout. I fish it several times a year and I haven't seen one come out of there in a few years. Pretty sure they stopped putting them big broods in and cut the numbers on the cookies too.
It's a great place to take the kids though.
And I bet you gave your healing body a good work out...lol.

They did, they cut the fall stocking broods. It’s not really a trout pond anymore.
