Urgent Request For Immediate Advice
« on: Mar 23, 2006, 08:09 AM »
All - I've run across a potentially attractive deal.  I don't currently have any electronic tools for ice fishing.  I've been a hit and miss kinda ice-fisherman up till this point....and unsuccessful for the most part, I might add.  I could potentially get a Vexilar FL-8 for $199.  Good deal or pass it up?  Thanks for your time.

-Andy

Considering that is a 50-80 $ Price Reduction, It sounds like a great deal :)

It will change the way you fish and catch!

I would jump on that deal...but only if you seriously want a Vex. I know that sounds like a "duh" statement but don't just buy it cause it's cheap.

 New or used?

It sounds like a good deal to me especially if it's new. Check the prices on the fl-18, if you can get a deal on that one, buy it instead. The split screen, bottom lock feature makes it in my opinion, a much better unit to use. I've compared the two and like the fl-18 a lot better!

But, either one would be better than not having one :) They are priceless on the ice

Check e-bay I just saw a buy it now for 179 w/everything. Be careful lots of deals on the fl-8 may want to save and consider the fl-18. Anyhoo a must for precision fishing!

Checkk the model closely.  Is it a FL-8, FL-8SLT, or FL-8SE.  Models dictate wheteher it would be a good buy or not.  FL-8 is the oldest and FL-8SE is the newest.
