Checked it yesterday around 330 and it was just like the rest of the local lakes about a inch of ice that was very soft at shore ice looked in bad shape this cold snap will help us out tho

Yeah, there was still some open water yesterday and the wind wasn't helping anything.  Hopefully last nights single digit temps and today will have helped make some good ice.

Hopefully this cold snap grows the ice I’ve built new tip downs, jaw jackers even a smitty sled for this year. Can’t wait to hit the ice!

Both lakes are usually pretty good fishing  depending on what you are targeting might depend on what lake  you want to fish tho

I just got back from the upper lake.  Edges are bad, i did find one area where i was able to carefully creep out onto the ice.  I walked about 30 ft out and there was 2.5" of ice.  I didn't feel comfortable walking out to the deeper water to see if there was more ice there.  Will probably check again tomorrow, the edges should get better tonight.  Next weekend for sure will be good.  So maybe we get one weekend of fishing then the ice will melt.

Was on the lower lake today. Edges sketchey. Once out, ice was good. Caught a few trout and a million dink gills. Wind was brutal

They are both pretty good for trout. Just stay shallow<8 feeet of water. They seem to cruise the weed edges.

Ice is much better today than it was yesterday.  Shore ice is still a bit thin in spots, once you get a few feet out though it's fine.  3.5" of ice everywhere i drilled, seemed pretty solid.
